The online induction, produced by MSite, is designed to save time on site, Carillion says.
Carillion insists that everyone will still receive a face-to-face orientation when they first arrive on site but if everyone has already seen the video, it can be done more quickly.
Or as Carillion鈥檚 publicity material puts it: 鈥淭he online element takes the majority of messages away into a controlled setting and creates a passport environment which helps people move more freely between sites without the need to repeat the same induction.鈥�
Health & safety director Glenn Christiansen said: 鈥淭his efficient new approach clearly frees up valuable time for our workers on site, but the key benefit for us is the consistent level of training everyone will now receive.鈥�
The system is also integrated with the skills card database held by the 91黑料网 Industry Training Board, ensuring workers have their credentials and role competencies checked before they start work on a Carillion 91黑料网 Services project.
