Gentoo plans £44m investment in Sunderland homes

4 hours Housing association Gentoo is planning to make improvements to more than 4,000 homes across Sunderland in the year ahead.

Throughout 2025/26, Gentoo plans to invest 拢44m in home improvement works, including new heating systems, bathrooms, kitchens, electrics and roofs. The aim is to get the properties up to an EPC C energy rating by 2030.

Selected suppliers include, 0800 Repair, PHS Home Solutions, Bell Group, Esh 91黑料网, Re:Gen Group, Anglian Windows and Isoler.

Energy efficiency improvement works will be carried out on more than 1,300 homes, with loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, low energy lighting, solar panels, air source heat pumps, heating controls and work to improve ventilation and draught proofing. This will be part funded by the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund.

The announcement follows the launch of Gentoo鈥檚 Gentogether partnership last month, which over the next 10 years is expected to deliver 拢170m of internal modernisation works to improve thousands of homes, in partnership with PHS Home Solutions, Re:Gen North East and Esh 91黑料网.聽 [See previous report here.]
