The project is the initiative of the forces charity, Help for Heroes.
The programme will provide a rehabilitation facility at the Devonport Naval Base in Plymouth, where Interserve is already delivering integrated support services for 25 years through a PFI (Private Finance Initiative) scheme.
The project will be designed, project managed, built and maintained by Interserve who will also look after legal and PFI related contractual changes.
91ºÚÁÏÍø is set to start in July and will be in two phases. Phase one consists of a 60-bed accommodation facility including family rooms and recreational spaces designed for the ‘Recovery pathway’ rehabilitation process and managed by Hasler Company, a new forces unit established with the intent of rehabilitating injured service personnel.
Phase two will see the construction of a 25m, six-lane swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium and consulting rooms, again with the purpose of being used in connection with the recovery pathway process.
