Developers Court Collaboration and Select Property have appointed Midgard to lead the development of their Edition Birmingham scheme.

The 拢145m contract will see JRL subsidiary Midgard work towards breaking ground on the 581-home project in the coming months, with phase one expected to be completed in 2027.

SOM is providing engineering consultancy on the development, with interior design from Weedon Architects.

Edition Birmingham is next to Centenary Square in Birmingham and close to the 拢1.2bn Paradise scheme. It comprises one- and two-bed apartments split between two connected towers: the 46-storey Centenary Tower and 15-storey Park Residence.

The development has already secured 拢85m in off-plan sales.

Midgard is currently finishing the 65-storey Consort Place residential project in London鈥檚 Canary Wharf and Court Collaboration鈥檚 One Eastside in Birmingham.

The contractor will use modular construction methods to speed delivery. Features include floor-to-ceiling vent screens, mechanical ventilation systems, triple glazing and air-source heat pumps.

Midgard director Kevin Keegan said: "Edition will be a major milestone in the redevelopment of the Birmingham skyline and we are excited to be involved in such a high-quality development."

Court Collaboration chief executive Alex Neale said: 鈥淓dition Birmingham is visually stunning and will be built to the very highest standards of safety and quality. We鈥檙e very pleased to have Midgard on board as our contractor and we can now look forward to breaking ground and bringing this world-class development to Birmingham.鈥
