The Foundry Lane development is being developed for Halton Borough Council by developer Cityheart in partnership with Plus Dane Housing.
Phase 1 of the scheme includes 63 two- and three-bedroom 鈥榓ffordable鈥 homes providing a mix of shared ownership and rental options. The wider masterplan for the scheme will see 300 new homes delivered in phases across 20 acres of land which was formerly occupied by Tarmac and haulier Eddie Stobart.
Cityheart was appointed as Halton Borough Council鈥檚 development partner in 2022. The proposed scheme has since undergone a redesign and land remediation carried out by earthmoving specialist PP O鈥機onnor.
The proposed new homes are designed for maximum thermal efficiency and will incorporate renewable energy features 鈥 namely photovoltaic panels and air-source heat pumps.
The project team includes project manager and quantity surveyor MM Management Services, architect Corstorphine & Wright, consulting engineer Curtins, M&E specialist Tace and planning consultant Zerum. Landscape design is by DEP.
James Litherland, senior development manager for Cityheart said: 鈥淲e鈥檝e been working closely with Plus Dane on the Foundry Lane scheme in recent months and are very pleased to announce them as our partners to bring this development forward, creating much-needed, sustainable and affordable homes for local people.
This is a major milestone for Cityheart as we move forward into delivery across three major redevelopment projects in the northwest including Foundry Lane, Stopford Park in Stockport and Fettlers in Wigan town centre.鈥
